Dedicated performer, composer, recording artist, and educator, Overton Alford, is quickly becoming one of the leading polymath music entrepreneurs of his generation.

As a performer, Overton has played concerts across the American South and Lower Midwest. He has also had the opportunity to perform at the Tennessee Music Educators Association Conference on four occasions, the southern Concert Band Directors' National Association conference, and at multiple Percussive Arts Society events. Overton typically incorporates a wide variety of genres into his solo recitals. Styles such as Jazz, Rock, Classical, Minimalist, Ragtime, Electronic, and many others can often be found in one performance.

A similar blend of influences can be found in Overton's compositional output. Overton describes his compositions as "classically composed with a pop sensibility and a dash of modernism".

His work for vibraphone and tape, ...we interrupt this program..., is said to contain influence from Philip Glass, Koji Kondo, Karlheinz Stockhausen, John Williams, Bela Bartok, Conlon Nancarrow, and Vince Guaraldi, to name only a few.

Overton has several compositions and arrangements for sale on his website. His Percussion Ensemble arrangement of Debussy's Clair De Lune is published by RowLoff Productions.

Overton holds a bachelor's degree in music performance from Austin Peay State University and a master's degree from the Univeristy Of Florida. He is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Memphis.
